More old photos -- and a few newer ones

Here's the newest -- our dog, Southpaw enjoying the sun.  (for a challenge at Paper Issues)

The next is an old photo, Christmas car and souvenirs from the Marine Corps Birthday Ball, 1986.  Boy, we were young.  lol

The next is for a challenge at Scrap Our Stash, using a sketch and the word FLOWER (use items on the layout starting with each letter)
My items are:  Flowered paper, Lines of  journaling, lined/striped paper, Ochre color, Word stickers, Ecru Ephemera Embellishments, Red apples

I think this was spring or summer of '92 -- Scott was walking well but was still in diapers or pullups.  Such fun memories.  Miss those days :-)

A few for various challenges

These photos are horrible, but they're from our time in DC/NoVA and I wanted to document the story.  We used to go up to DC all the time on weekends -- something was always going on.  We were up there one weekend for the Kite Festival -- a very blustery, cloudy Kite Festival.  It's always so fun seeing all those kites in the sky.  It's for challenge at Paper Issues (Take 5).

The next one is a photo of a coworker and me.  The journaling talks about how I didn't realize how lucky I was to be working where I was.  But I ended up at another school with a much less wonderful staff and director and learned the lesson.  Fun times in Orange.  This was another challenge at PI

And the last one for today -- more throw back photos (I've been having so much fun with these oldies).  David and the boys at The Farm (my in-law's).  For a dual challenge with a sketch from Rochelle Spears April Rewind and Grand Diva's April Inspiration Challenges.

From the PI Crop

Over my birthday weekend, Paper Issues had an online Crop -- lots of fun challenges.  We're going through stuff in the garage and I pulled out a whole bunch of old photos.  Fun, fun, scrapping military and my babies :-)   Here's what I got accomplished this weekend:
Forgot to include in last post:  From a sketch at PI

from a sketch at Let's Scrap

I usually don't post photos of kids not my own -- but these are 32 years old, so the "kids" are close to 40 now.  From my preschool-teaching days.

After Bob died, the Merced Board of Supervisors closed a meeting in his memory and recognized their mourning his death.  I'll put this in a page protector so that the cover is over the outside, so it can be raised to read the resolution.  And I need to dig up a photo of the folks from their 50th.

And did I mention these count for Calvin Ball too?  I was on the leaderboard for Week 2!  Woo Hoo!

Calvin Ball Week 2, part 2

I turned in my points for Week 2 last night -- and today I'm number 9 on the Leader Board -- woo hoo!  Paper Issues is having a crop this weekend and it's my birthday, so I'm scrapping.

Here's two layouts I finished on Friday (last day of Week 2) :

Both are from 1984 -- David graduated Boot Camp in May '84, we spent 16 weeks in Memphis, then back home to CA for two weeks of school.  From there it was three years at Quantico, VA.
